With a soulful aesthetic and original hip hop ethics, Rise creates music that is deeply rooted in his musical upbringing. Falling in love with his parents soul collection at an early age, Rise states the music of Willie Hutch, Al Green & Curtis Mayfield as influential to him, as much as that of Hip Hop pioneers Pete Rock and Dj Premier. It was Pete Rock & CL Smooth's "All Souled Out" that first introduced Rise to Hip Hop and set the foundations for him to begin to write music.
His first venture into production came at the age of 12, when a
friend introduced him to the "Dr Sample". Since then Rise has neverlooked back, continuing to better himself and to create music that stands out amongst a largely stagnant Hip Hop scene. Having already produced a number of tracks for independant releases, Rise aims to continue to make his mark upon the Hip Hop scene with the same ethics he entered into it: Soul, Soul & More Soul.
